NADIA ASHOUR
Hi everyone! I'm a biology major in my final year here at Cal State LA. I've always been extremely interested in genetics and developmental biology, so when I'm not in class, I'm in my research lab working with zebrafish in order to study the role of certain genes in social behavior. However, my lifelong dream is to become a dentist, and I've been fortunate enough to be accepted to USC's dental school, where I'll be matriculating this coming fall! I also enjoy listening to music, binge watching tv shows, baking, and working on some crochet projects (it's like knitting, but not quite). I can be kind of quiet at times, but I still enjoy talking to people and making them laugh, and I'm always excited about the opportunity to learn something new. AHA has made my time at Cal State LA really fun, and I'm thankful for the opportunity to serve as the president for my last year here.

Hi all! My name is Jennyfer and this is my second year as treasurer. A little about myself: I was born in Guatemala and it's my fourth (and last) year at CSULA. As of now, the plan is to take a year off, return for my Master's, and one day become a forensic scientist. Besides that, there's not much more to say about me except: my favorite color is green, I love watermelons, my favorite show is Bob's Burgers, and I would give my life for Ice Bear. Really, those four things pretty much capture my essence. Anyway, thank you for taking the time to explore our page! I hope we have a good year, AHA!

I am a senior anthropology major with a biology minor. I’m pursuing a career in forensic anthropology. I enjoy napping and spending time with my dog.

ANNA HERNANDEZ
Hello! I am Anna Hernandez, the current Vice President. This is my senior year at Cal State LA and I am majoring in Public Health. I am currently working on my internship at the Student Health Center. My hobbies include listening to music, watching videos on YouTube and watching movies and series on Netflix. Thanks to AHA, I have been able to meet peers from various disciplines and make friends. I hope that everyone will be able to attend and socialize during events and I look forward to another great year in AHA.

STEPHANIE VARGHESE
Hello! My name is Stephanie, and I am a sophomore biology major here at CSULA pursuing a career in ecological research. Between classes, you might find me attending to plants in the greenhouse or running stats in a research lab. This is my first year as an AHA board member, and I’m looking forward to all the exciting events we have planned this semester!
STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE
JUSTIN CHANG
I'm a senior Business Administration major, with minors in Mathematics and English. I learned too late that I should have been an English Major, and that the CSULA computer labs have free printing. I enjoy reading: my favorite books are The Gospel according to Luke, The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, and East of Eden by Steinbeck. I joined AHA during my sophomore year in order to augment my Law School Application, but am glad I can now say that my role as organizer of our Public Lecture Series has been its own reward. And, for the last tidbit, the verse which has brought me most encouragement and comfort during these past four years is either 2 Corinthians 12:9 or all of Psalm 16 (ESV).

JOBEL HERNANDEZ
Hey everyone, my name is Jobel and I'm the Events Coordinator for AHA. I'm an undergraduate student finishing up my fourth and final year here at CSULA. I will be majoring in Biology, with a minor in Forensic Science, and I plan to use my educational experience to have a career in the Forensic Science field. Additionally, I also have some interest to become an educator in the future. Besides working with AHA, I currently have a part-time job working at McDonald's, I am a part of a couple research projects on campus that I'll always be excited to tell you about, and I do some community engagement on the side whenever I have the ability to do so. Whenever I have a break from these busy events, you can almost certainly find me either playing Pokemon, catching up on reading, playing with my dog, practicing archery, or scrolling for hours on TikTok (It's not a problem, I swear). If you ever need someone to talk to, I may be shy at first, but give me time to know you and I'll quickly open up to you. Feel free to contact me if you'd like!

Hello, my name is Mayra and I am an undergraduate at CSULA. I am majoring in psychology and minoring in biology. I aspire to be a professor to inspire students to pursue higher education. On my free time I enjoy hiking and being outdoors.

I'm a junior majoring in Biochemistry and minoring in Biology. My hobbies are going to the gym, eating, sleeping and watching Netflix (like Jo Koy and John Mulaney). What inspires me is seeing other people give 100% to whatever it is that they love.
